Overview
Provides managed OAuth access to the Zoho Bigin REST API via the Maton gateway, enabling agents to perform full CRUD operations, search, and metadata queries on CRM objects (Contacts, Accounts/Companies, Pipelines, Products, etc.).
Key Advantages
1.Managed OAuth via Maton: the gateway injects Zoho Bigin OAuth tokens so the agent only needs a MATON_API_KEY, reducing auth complexity.
2.Full CRUD coverage for core CRM modules: create, read, update, delete records in Contacts, Accounts, Pipelines, Products, plus access to Tasks, Events, Calls, Notes (with extra scopes).
3.Consistent, well-documented REST interface: clear endpoint patterns, query parameters, and JSON schemas closely mirroring Zoho’s official API.
4.Powerful search support: email/phone search and criteria-based queries with logical operators for targeted record retrieval.
5.Metadata and user discovery: access to modules and users endpoints to dynamically adapt to an organization’s Bigin configuration and ownership rules.
Connection management APIs: list/create/get/d*
Use Cases
- Sales assistant that creates and updates Contacts, Accounts, and Pipelines when a user describes new leads or deal stage changes in natural language.
- Support or success workflows that look up Contacts/Companies by email or phone to pull recent activity before drafting responses.
- Data hygiene automations that bulk-update fields (e.g., phone formats, custom flags) or delete obsolete test/demo records within Bigin.
- Reporting or enrichment tools that paginate through Contacts/Accounts with selected fields to feed into analytics or secondary systems.
- Admin or onboarding assistants that inspect modules and users to help configure or verify a team’s Bigin setup (e.g., who are ActiveUsers, what modules exist).

**Quick judgement**
A strong, well-documented Zoho Bigin CRM integration via the Maton gateway. It’s well-suited for agents that need to reliably read, create, update, delete, and search CRM records, without handling Zoho OAuth flows directly.
**What it’s good for**
- Any workflow that manages Zoho Bigin Contacts, Accounts (Companies), Pipelines (deals), and Products.
- Search-driven lookups (by email/phone or criteria) as part of sales, support, or account-management assistants.
- Dynamic, metadata-aware behavior (discover modules/users) and iterative pagination over CRM data.
**Key strengths**
- Managed OAuth: the agent only needs a MATON_API_KEY; Zoho tokens are handled by Maton.
- Comprehensive coverage of standard Bigin REST endpoints, including CRUD, search, modules, and users.
- Excellent documentation, with Python/JS examples, required fields, error codes, and common pitfalls called out (e.g., `fields` is mandatory, module name case sensitivity).
**Risks and limitations**
- **Credential & connection risk:** Requires a valid MATON_API_KEY and at least one active Zoho Bigin connection. Misconfiguration (missing key, missing connection) will cause 400/401 errors. Agents should surface these clearly to users.
- **Data sensitivity:** Bigin commonly holds PII and business-sensitive CRM data. Use only when explicitly needed, and avoid over-broad queries (e.g., fetching entire databases) unless the user clearly requests it and policy allows.
- **OAuth scopes & permissions:** Some modules (Tasks, Events, Calls, Notes) need extra scopes; insufficient scopes or user permissions can cause `OAUTH_SCOPE_MISMATCH` or `NO_PERMISSION` errors that the agent must handle gracefully.
- **Rate limits & pagination:** 200 records max per GET and 100 per write/delete. The agent must implement page-based loops while respecting `more_records` and handle HTTP 429 rate limiting.
- **Zoho-only CRM:** Only Zoho Bigin is supported here; for other third-party apps the agent must switch to the `api-gateway` skill.
**Recommended scenarios**
Use this skill when:
- The user explicitly mentions Zoho Bigin or clearly wants to manipulate records in that CRM.
- A sales, support, or operations assistant needs structured CRM data or must update CRM state as part of its workflow.
- You need robust search and metadata-aware behavior in Bigin (e.g., “Find all contacts named Watson and update their pipeline stage”).
Avoid or fall back to other tools when:
- The target system is not Zoho Bigin (use `api-gateway` or another dedicated integration instead).
- The task does not require CRM access or touches highly sensitive data where organizational policy restricts external retrieval.
