Overview
Provide background timers and alarms that run as separate processes and notify the model via System messages when they complete, so the model can then notify the user with a custom reminder message.
Key Advantages
1.Supports multiple concurrent timers via background processes with unique sessionIds.
2.Flexible time formats (seconds, minutes, hours, MM:SS, HH:MM:SS, and bare minutes).
3.Simple shell-style interface with clear examples for labeled reminders and different durations.
4.Built-in management commands to list, poll, view logs, and cancel timers.
5.Explicit guidance on critical notification behavior to ensure timer completions actually reach the user (avoiding HEARTBEAT_OK suppression).
Use Cases
- Short-lived reminders such as “check the oven in 10 minutes” or “stand up and stretch in 2 minutes”.
- Productivity workflows like Pomodoro sessions with work and break timers.
- Multiple parallel cooking or household timers (e.g., tea, eggs, meeting reminder).
- Lightweight scheduling of near-term follow-ups within a single session (e.g., “remind me in 30 minutes to review notes”).
- Task orchestration where the model needs to resume an interaction or action after a delay.

**Judgement:** A focused, well-designed timer skill that reliably schedules background timers and surfaces completion events, well-suited for short- to medium-duration reminders and productivity workflows.
**Strengths:**
- Robust timer support with multiple formats and labeled reminders.
- Background execution with sessionIds allows multiple concurrent timers and basic management (list/poll/log/kill).
- Very clear documentation, including the critical requirement to *avoid* `HEARTBEAT_OK` so completion notifications actually reach the user.
- Minimal security or safety exposure—operations are constrained to time tracking and notifications.
**Risks / Limitations:**
- If the agent mishandles completion messages (e.g., starts responses with `HEARTBEAT_OK` or omits the reminder text), user notifications can be silently suppressed.
- No explicit guarantees about persistence across environment restarts; long timers may be lost if the host process is terminated.
- Not a full scheduling system (e.g., no calendar integration or complex recurrence), best for simple timers within the current environment.
**Recommended Scenarios:**
- Assistants that frequently need short-term reminders (cooking, exercise, micro-tasks, quick check-ins).
- Productivity- or coaching-oriented agents using Pomodoro or structured work/break cycles.
- Multi-step workflows where the assistant must re-engage the user after a fixed delay.
- Any OpenClaw-based agent needing a reliable, simple, low-overhead timing mechanism rather than building custom scheduling logic.

OS: win32-x64LLM: anthropic/claude-haiku-4.5
**Judgment:** A solid, focused background timer utility that integrates cleanly with process management. Well-suited for everyday reminders, productivity workflows, and lightweight scheduling.
**Key strengths:**
- Flexible time input formats and labeled timers make it easy to tailor reminders to user needs.
- Background execution ensures the assistant can continue other interactions while timers run.
- Provides controls for listing, polling, logging, and cancelling timers.
**Risks / limitations:**
- If the assistant responds to completion events with `HEARTBEAT_OK` or omits the reminder message, the user will not see the notification (messages starting with `HEARTBEAT_OK` and under 300 characters are suppressed).
- Depends on the underlying process environment (Node.js, background process stability); timers could be lost if the environment restarts or crashes.
- Not suitable for safety-critical or high-stakes timing (e.g., medical dosing schedules, critical industrial operations); users should not rely on it as the sole timing mechanism.
**Recommended scenarios:**
- Everyday timers for cooking, breaks, and personal reminders.
- Structured productivity sessions (Pomodoro, work/break cycles).
- Managing multiple concurrent reminders where lightweight, textual alerts are sufficient and occasional failure is acceptable.
